YIDA
We first attempted to enter the Nuba Mountains in 2014, but were shopped short of Sudan’s border at a place called Yida. At the time, Yida was populated by approximately 10,000 Nuban refugees.
We built relationships with the refugees there, and returned to facilitate mobile clinics and offer training for pastors in the camp. We were overjoyed at the ministry we had found in Yida, but we yearned to reach those trapped beyond the Sudanese border, so we prayed for an opportunity to reach the un-reached.
WHO WE ARE
Answering the Call is a 501(c)(3) international, Christian missions organization
devoted to reaching people in difficult-to-reach places.
OUR MISSION
We cross borders to bring relief, hope and love to the poor, orphaned, persecuted and marginalized. We come alongside local leaders, encouraging and equipping them to carry out their God-given vision for their communities and surrounding countries.
We believe short-term mission experiences are purposeful.
OUR TEAM
We are limit-pushers and questioners of the status-quo. We are listeners before we are advocates. We are no strangers to war zones and closed countries. We are small and proud of it. And when God tells us to "go," we never refuse.
OUR FOUNDERS
David & Joy Fuller
Childhood sweethearts, David and Joy Fuller met at church in Southwest Virginia and got married in 1983, at 22 and 19-years-old respectively.
After traveling the world and noticing that relief and mission organizations often withdraw from regions in conflict, war, or extreme persecution, David and Joy felt compelled to start Answering the Call.
OUR BELIEFS
We believe:
God so loved the world that He sent His son Jesus, not to judge the world, but that the world would be saved through Him (John 3:16-17).
Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the life (John 14:6) and true and complete salvation for man is found in Him alone (Acts 4:12).
If we confess our sin and repent, Jesus is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9), giving us new life in Him (2 Corinthians 5:17) and empowering us with the filling of His Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38).
All scripture is inspired by God and is profitable to us for teaching, reproof, correction and training in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16).
Those who put their faith in Christ Jesus are one body in Him (Galatians 3:26, 28).
In the unity of believers. It is our prayer that unity be perfected among the entire body of Christ such as Jesus spoke of in John 17:23, in order that the world may know He was sent by God and that God loved the world even as He loved His son, Jesus.
