Thailand is a constitutional monarchy with a strong king and a corrupt society (crime, prostitution, drug dealing and arms racketeering. Approximately 20% of all girls aged 11-17 work in Prostitution. Their current king (Bhumidol) has ruled since 1946 and is one of the world's longest serving rulings. Thailand has never been ruled by a western power. The Thai army has dominated life there for the past 60 years.
Freedom of religion is guaranteed. Buddhism is the majority religion (92%), followed by Muslim (5%). The people are less than 2% Christian. There are currently approximately 1500 missionaries to Thailand. People worship the golden image of the spirit whom they say has protected them and kept them free.
Literacy rate is 94%, Thai is the official language. There are 75 total languages. Complete Bible is available in 15 languages; NT is available in 9 languages. 11 languages have portions being translated and 27 languages have no access to the Scriptures.
