The 10/40
Window
The 10/40 Window is the
region of the world geographically located 10 degrees North to
40
degrees North of the equator. Known as the "Resistant Belt" ,
it is where:
-
More
than 90% of the world's unreached people groups
reside
-
Where
the majority of all Muslims, Buddhists, and Hindus
live
-
Less
than 10% of the world's missionaries
operate
-
The
poorest people in the world live
-
Most of the countries
that are located in this region are what missionaries refer to
as "closed
countries" This means that Christian activity is illegal and
often unsafe in these countries.
This is largely due to the predominance of the Muslim faith or
Communist governments.
These situations demand of the Church new strategies and new
paradigms of ministry. This
is the impetus for our Pastoral Training
Center.
An international mission
organization working toward:
-
Bringing the good news
of salvation in Christ
alone
to unreached nations, tribes and
peoples
-
Equipping and
encouraging indigenous
Christian
leaders
in and around the 10/40
window
in their pastoral
and church
planting
ministries
-
Giving
care and relief around the world to
the
poor, orphans and
needy
